Congratulations to Emanuela for this outstanding achievement!
Congratulations to Michele Fogliardi, PhD student in Physics, who last week earned a prestigious double recognition in two science-themed public speaking competitions.
Michele took first place in the PhD Contest, organized by IUSS Ferrara in collaboration with Art-Er, and also secured an impressive third place in the national FameLab competition, standing out among fifteen finalists from various Italian universities.
This achievement also earned him an invitation to take part in Focus Live, scheduled in Milan from November 7 to 9, an event that brings together some of the most renowned Italian science communicators.
During the competitions, Michele presented his research on gravitational lenses in astrophysical images, carried out using Machine Learning techniques. His presentation highlighted the importance of these tools in an era when telescopes produce enormous amounts of data, opening new perspectives for the analysis and understanding of the cosmos.
